PORTRAIT SERIES

Between 2016 and 2019 I painted a series of self portraits with the idea of portraying self reflection, mental health issues and humanity’s inhumanity. At the time there was a lot going on within my own life (personally, professionally). Global politics were also in disarray. These paintings were my attempt to try and make some kind of sense of it all. The intent is to show our inner vulnerability as well as the multi-layered, complexity of life. The paintings’ titles act as time stamps / personal memories, reminding me of the specific period the work was completed.
